Greetings,
I've been reading Historical romance for a while now. Since the death of my father 3 months ago, I have found myself drawn to reading. Upon the recommendation by my best friend, she told me to try historical romance. I laughted at the suggestion because I always called them 'cheese' novels. Well I can tell you now, how closed minded I was...I thoroughly enjoy them!!!
.
I started reading Julie Garwood and found her books entertaining, but always felt that the love scenes were lacking. My buddy suggested that I give Virginia Henley a try and I did. I absolutely loved all of her novels. Her books provided what I needed to complete my fantasies that I had about the ultimate hero.
.
Sadly though, my love affair with Henley is over, as I just about completed reading all of her novels. I am unfamiliar with authors that write historical romance. I have tried reading other authors, and after much hype about a partical book to read, I came out of the experience 'unsatisfied'. I am so drawn to historical romance that I cannot imagine myself reading modern/contemporary romance.
.
I have read erotica, my favorite is the Sleeping Beauty trilogy by Anne Rice, so the explicit sexual content does not bother me in the least. Actually the more erotic the better...hehe;) But again I am not familiar with the authors that write historical romance.
.
My buddy had recommended that after I concluded reading Henley that I try Bertrice Small and Thea Devine. So I am humbly ask, does anyone have a suggestion as to which book to start with? I am at a total loss, and I'm going through withdrawal.
.
Thanks
Charina;-)
